We have yearned to be able to convert “alphabet fonts” for use in the Viking embroidery suites. Now we can, with the Font Manager tool in Premier+ 2! I recorded this 1-hour webinar today; a great group of members attended!

Is This a Glitch?
I imported only the numbers and the upper case “letters” from an “alphabet font” into PREMIER+™ 2 using the new Font Manager. Then I used the imported font in the Lettering tab. Note: Alphabet fonts are, in reality, embroidery designs made to look like letters.
The upper case letters worked well. In fact, the quality of the newly-created fonts is amazingly good! And importing them makes it possible to use these in the Lettering tab of the Extra module.
Importing the upper case “letters” only, though, causes an unforeseen problem (see image above): If lowercase letters are entered in the letter box, these will not be converted to uppercase letters, as are the fonts in the font gallery. What happened? It is possible this is a glitch in the engine running the fonts – next step is Software Support, to ask what might be happening.
Amazing new feature:
If the “PLUS” section of the PREMIER+™ 2 website is interpreted correctly in my mind, then this will be mind boggling. Just think about it.
Until now, we had built-in Lettering in the software — hundreds, under the Lettering tab in the Extra module. If we wanted to create additional fonts, we had to digitize them either automagically in QuickFont from fonts already on our computers, or laboriously with a wonderful module called Font Create. The first one works quite well much of the time, while the latter does a terrific job.
